Sarah Beauchemin

"Stories are incredibly important, possibly in ways we don't understand, in allowing us to make sense of our lives, in giving us empathy, and in creating the world that we live in." - Neil Gaiman

Sarah is Philly-born Gen X bibliophile, cautious optimist, and writer who believes in the remarkable power of a great story. She has written creatively and professionally for over three decades.

Sarah published her debut novel Final Belongings in December 2022. The literary thriller was selected as an Editor’s Pick by BookLife by Publishers Weekly, and Kirkus Reviews praised it as “a bewitchingly dark tale, as emotionally engrossing as it is boldly unconventional.”

Final Belongings was also included in BookBub’s 2023 curated list, “Get Swept Away by These Literary Novels with Unique Settings” alongside works by Geraldine Brooks, Rachel Hawkins, and Kate Morton.

In 2024, out of 542 submissions, Final Belongings received Honorable Mention in the Mystery/Thriller category in the 11th Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published E-book Awards. The novel was also selected as a Finalist in the Mystery category of the 2024 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

When not writing fiction—or musing about the act of doing so—Sarah loves to hit the tennis courts, agonize over which incredible show to binge-watch next, get lost in various PS5 games, travel, and spend lots of time with her wonderful husband, Jay, and best cat ever, Sox.
